Beef for the Brave was a small idea that started with a late night of darts and an understanding that the price of beef was too high. Out of that late night came a rough plan of raising a couple calves, processing them, and donating the meat to Veterans and Gold Star families in Nebraska, and eventually all over the USA! Through donations of money, supplies, and feed we will continue to put American beef on our hero's dinner tables!
Currently we are able to donate beef to American Veterans, Veteran homes, and Gold star families located in Nebraska! We are also working on being able to send our American Raised beef to Veterans all over America!
Here at Beef for the Brave we use sustainable, moral, and safe practices to raise American Angus cattle from birth until processing. Our beef is home raised, fed locally grown feeds, and cared for with moral and ethical practices.
Beef for the Brave uses local processors to handle the processing and packaging of our beef.
We rely on monetary donations from amazing people like you to keep our heroes' freezers full of American beef! We believe that every little bit helps and are grateful to anyone and everyone who donates to our cause! A little bit can go a very long way!

Sgt. Randin Hood enlisted the United States Army as a Scout in January of 2008. During his time in the service Sgt. Hood was stationed at Fort Bliss Texas, Fort Riley Kansas, and Fort Wainwright Alaska. He was deployed 2 times during his enlistment; a 12-month combat tour to Iraq, and a 9-month combat tour to Afghanistan. Sgt. Hood was medically discharged from the Army in June of 2015 and after a quick stint in Minnesota, he and his wife Hanna returned to Nebraska looking to start a new life. After exiting the service Randin struggled heavily with depression and anxiety, and struggled to find a sense of belonging that he had while in the Army. He was finally able to accomplish this, and find a new sense of purpose in life, after spending time in the ranching community. In June of 2017 Randin and Hanna bought their first herd of 10 beef cows and began a small cow calf operation. Then in 2021 they were able to expand the herd another 40 head totaling 50 pairs, before they were forced to sell and move to Oklahoma. It was in Oklahoma that Randin came up with the idea of Beef for the Brave, and with the help of local Nebraska farmers and ranchers, was able to put this idea into motion!
With your help we can continue our mission of providing high quality American raised beef to our military Veterans and Gold Star families!
